Anyone mention Danvers yet?
It was like Arby's but actually good. They had the best Apple Turnovers too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that hung out at the Bayou that's brain isn't sizzled so much that I know how to post on a message board.
I remember getting egg salad and pimento cheese sandwichs at Joe D's for years along with the fried chicken po boy. Gre up on those.
Lumms boiled in beer hot dogs.
Wesleys chopped beef sandwich next to Broadmoor Theater.
Black Angus Steakhouse which is Lafondas on Airline now.
There was a place on Highland at Airline where the Shell Station is. I can't for the life of me remember the name. It was upscale and changed hands a couple times before closing and sitting empty for years. It was used as the restaurant in Everybodies All American then torn down after filming. Anyone?

Forgot about "Fairchilds"...great French food by Sandy and Michele Foucateau (sp). I think Sandy Saye still does some baking and sells bread on Saturdays at the farmers market.

No, you are not alone. I was in the Bayou almost everyday back in 1978-81ish. Remember the women bartenders Janet, Lynn and Christie? Hawkwind you fricking queers!

Anybody remember G.D. Ritzys? One on Florida near Lobdell, and one at Sherwood and Coursey? Flat burgers, but stacked full of toppings, They had grilled hot dogs, too. And Mr. Ko-Ko-Mos' on Florida at Donmoor? Kind of an unusual concept they had going on.

'Round the Corner was a staple growing up. Always went there with my father before LSU games, and many other times. Awesome burgers!

Anyone remember Ever Loving Saturdays in Corporate Mall?
It wasn't good, but this is a bit of a memory lane drive.
