I want outdoor cooking toys and my budget is $800

I know the FDB will be up to the challenge of helping me make this decision.
I've been a Weber gas grill guy for a while, but this go round I want both charcoal (for me), but I travel some, so I need gas so my wife can fire up the grill on occasion when I'm not there, or it's a quick weeknight cook.
Here are my limitations. One, my house is near downtown, so I want to store my stuff in the garage. It needs to be mobile enough to move it in and out of the garage side door. Two, my space in the garage is limited. I can probably fit a 3 burner grill and a vertical smoker in the space. An offset grill or combo grill is probably to large for the space and too heavy for my wife to move by herself (she will also be moving the grill for me when it is icy or raining).
I could go over budget a little, but want to stay as close as possible, cuz I'll probably need to accessorize my new stuff, which I'll do by giving my wife grill accessories for her birthday...
Suggestions? I want quality stuff, but most of the time it will be my wife and me, plus maybe a few neighbors and her boyfriend, so it doesn't have to be huge.
I'm toying with the combination of a Weber Performer Premiere and a Fuego Professional gas grill. The Weber would have to be my smoker.
Turn on your sarcasm meter before you get on me about how I treat my wife. We've been married 26 years, and I'm a lucky man.

Are you getting rid of your Weber gas?
Get a Weber kettle, you can smoke on it too and have few diameters and styles.
I would stick with Weber and get a Spirit for gas. They make a 3 burner.
ETA: You will stay under $800 with this setup.

Yeah, I sold my Weber Summit in anticipation of moving cross country and because my Triplets went off to college and I didn't need that much grill.
I toyed with the Weber Combo as my first choice but that Fuego has the dome shape that is nice and it is super maneuverable. Seems to be a great grill. I'm kind of liking the idea of the table space with the Performer and I don't know if I'll have enough space for a Performer and a Spirit. I could forego the table space and do just the Kettle...

I'm just hoping he gets her a pizza stone for Christmas...

And use the $200 savings on gadgets and accessories.

I have no answers for you, I'm posting to say I loved the boyfriend line just thrown in there. Brilliant

Yes--get a Weber Kettle. Spend some of the cash on a Kettle Pizza insert, and you've got a flexible grill that's a good pizza oven. LINK

Weber Performer, Charcoal grill with gas assist lighting. $450ish
Been having mine I’m guessing 10 years.
Don’t need anything else.

I’m in your boat, I’ve been doing Weber kettle only for past 15 years. Can’t complain but want more options... Think I’m going to get a rec tec pellet smoker based off reasearch and personal Recs. I like cooking stuff on sundays to eat during week at lunch so want an easier way to cook pulled pork and brisket or other meats without sweating outside all day

I have a 22” Weber kettle, 310 Genesis, Smokey Mountain, Smokey Joe and a 30” Masterbuilt. The kettle is the must own out of the bunch. Mine is at least 10 years old and beat to hell but it works like a champ. Easily the most versatile and it does everything well. Direct, indirect, smoke. Get the wife a Genesis and you will be set.

The Genesis eats up my budget by itself...

Not sure if you're interested, but you could get a GMG for around that $800 budget, which can provide some versatility that you might like, and the wife could use it as well.

You can find deals when places like Lowe’s and Home Depot transition from summer to winter. I picked up a genesis ll 310 for $269. I got my Masterbuilt for $79, believe the outdoor board tipped me off on that deal.
ACE right now as the Genesis for $699 and you can find a kettle for $100 so it’s in your budget.

A Genesis 310 for $269 or a Spirit 310?
The Spirit would be a great deal, but the Genesis would be crazy good.
Where and what time of year?

It’s a Genesis. Was a Lowe’s right before they started gearing up for Xmas here in New Orleans. I’d check the brickseek website regularly.

I think I'm going to get a Weber Performer, because that table space will be needed, and then purchase the gasser later. That way I can look for a great deal on a small grill on clearance and also get a feel for what will fit in the space I have.

I think you will be very happy with that Weber.

Oh, I'm sure I will be. I've cooked on a Weber kettle before, way back when my technique was to throw a bunch of charcoal on the grill, douse it with lighter fluid, light it, singe my eyebrows and forearm skin, douse it with more lighter fluid, throw the meat on before the coals we're ready, and burn the crap out of it. "That's not burnt, it's charred.". "What? Everyone knows that chicken tastes better medium rare.".
Cooking on a Weber gasser for 20+ years has taught me the ins and outs of grilling. I'm looking forward to using what I've learned while getting a feel for controlling the temps on the kettle.
