They spent way too much on that renovation, I don't know the exact number but the place was way overdone

MM- Laffy: Building purchased for $800K, demo/complete renovation $1.5M., and 120+ employees on payroll. Corporate has to approve of all themed designs and architecture. LAF set out to be different with lots of LED and a Hard Rock café type atmosphere. No two MM's are the exact same.

During it's peak, MM had 200 franchises across the country and LAF was the top-selling location for approx. 1 month. IMO, it was kinda like a fad, once you went a few times there wasn't any other attraction to keep your interest. I'm sure the craft beer drinkers enjoyed the "newness" but that soon wore off.

Lafayette pizza is all about Deano's, Alesi's, Pizza Village, and a few Bisbano's regulars. All have been established for 5 decades and the food is consistent. Lafayette people are very loyal and it's extremely difficult for an outsider to establish in a tight-knit market.

One on Veterans in Metairie closed over a year ago. One on Oak St. in NOLA hanging on.

All true.. but the pizza, sandwiches and apps at the Lafayette restaurants you mentioned are really better than MM.

The location and the theme were a good fit in BR, while it lasted.

Never loved their pizza, but they had surprisingly awesome hummus and sandwiches.

We used to host/play trivia there circa 2008-2012. Nothing special food-wise, but some fond memories for sure.

Haven't been back to BR in almost 6 years, but I bet it'd be unrecognizable to me now.

The change in BR is greatly over-exaggerated on TD. If you are comparing it to the 80s, sure. It's not really any different than it was 6 years ago

Restaurant wise, it’s vastly different. There have been a number of actual good restaurants come up over the last several years that BR desperately needed

No doubt. BR has a half decent restaurant selection now.

I was more referring to the city itself. If you drove down Burbank today, having not been here since 2012 or so, it wouldn't seem like some dystopian wasteland like people seem to act on TD. It's actually much more developed than it was 6 years ago.
