How to get more heat from my crawfish pot burner

Im thinking the hole is too small in the brass nozzle. Once I put the seafood in my 60 qt pot it takes too long to get back to a boil. I might be able to unscrew the nozzle but Im not sure due to the welds being in the way. Anyone ever drill one out a little bigger? What size bit should I use and can I do this without a drill press? Also I have a 40 psi regulator, not sure if that matters. Bought my setup and baldwin taylor.

If you drill a larger hole the flame that your burner puts out will not be as intense. You may want to try a double jet burner. I have one and it gets my 160qt pot back boiling without a problem. I must say that I have a high pressure hookup on my patio from my 250 gallon tank. Amazing the difference from a portable tank. Sounds like a jet taking off.

my dad has a burner that is a single nozzle like mine but is twice as loud and is a beast. Its over 20 years old though.

Drill out your current hole. Get a 60 psi regulator. Get a 10+ gallon tank. If you need more than that, you're trying to melt the earth.
Been riggin these up for years, they just don't make em like they used to

that's the problem. Not enough pressure

Get one with this kind of burner. Will heat your pot in no time, quiet enough to talk over, and doesn't use as much gas as you think because you run it at a much lower setting.

only reason im thinking its not the regulator is because the double jet burner only has a 20 psi regulator. Also where is the best place to order a 60 psi regulator and hose

any hardware store. ACE on Millerville had them pretty cheap last year.

Just take the regulator off your hose and install a needle valve rated at a high psi. Talk about a difference.

Yeah, that's how my dads is. No regulator. Gonna try to find the right valve tomorrow

any negative effects from this, looks like the new burner I am getting comes with a seperate valve. Can I just take the regulator off?

Woulda been cheaper buyin individually .... But take that hose off and use to fry fish.
Go get u a 60 psi regulator and the correct hose (hose for the 10, 20, 30 etc wont work).....
Regulator may or may not come with neck for connecting hose to the bottle ..... Buy that for 60 psi too.
Most any hardware store will have them.

That will work. Will need appropriate hose And nipple (to connect to bottle)

im pretty sure that end with the red cap is the nipple

I prefer no regulator. Just a hose with a valve hooked straight up to the tank. Gets the pot boiling quick.
