Local gas station/liquor store in the small town my office is located in just told me the 23 year is mine for $1200 and the 20 year for $800 (he seemed pretty confident he was getting one of each). This seems steep to me and what I would expect on the lower end of the secondary market, not retail.

How much would you pay for a bottle?

This was my initial thought. I've gone to all of the stores that do raffles and they all sell pretty close to MSRP. Guess I will continue to cross my fingers on winning one of those.

Cuban in Shreveport has a Hirsch 16 on the shelf for $2,500. Up from $1,999.99 when I snapped a picture of it a year ago. That's about double the secondary market. In summation: liquor stores can go piss up a flagpole. I'd rather pay market rate to some guy on the second hand market who waited in a long line, or won a raffle, or got lucky rather than some store owner who already makes 50% on every case of Bud Light.

You could sit at a bar that sells it and drink the whole bottle for that price. In that case, at least someone is pouring it for you.
