I will say for me with tip 60-70 easily....

Usually we go and have....

App 8-10 bucks
Entree 10-14 bucks each
Drinks 5-10 bucks each

App 8 + Entree 10 + 10 + Drinks +8 + 8 +8 +8 (we usually have two drinks each)

Usually comes out to 50-60 before the tip is added, I like whole numbers and believe in 20% so I usually will give at least a 8-12 dollar tip depending on service and location.

Now this is for a casual place like Chimes, Sammy's, Olive or Twist, Overpass Merchant, etc...

In NO if you go to a decent place and have a decent bottle of wine or a couple of specialty cocktails in the 175-250 range.

For a casual place, I'd probably guess $100-125ish before tip.

Appetizer: $12-15
Entrees: $20-25 each
Drinks: $25ish each

And this is for a casual, neighborhood-type place, assuming we drink beer rather than cocktails or wine, and don't have drinks before while waiting on our table.

Yeah drinks can get us in trouble, we've gone to Chimes had 3 drinks each that averaged 11 a drink so we spend almost 70 in alcohol

We don’t get to do it often with having kids, maybe once a month and we spend around $150-200.

Probably 30-40

We are both pretty frugal and would rather go out to eat more often than just splurging once in a while.

We will spend 100-150 for anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

Spending 100 + on dinner is retarded, especially if this is a common occurrence. Maybe a special occasion, but that's it. My wife and I can enjoy dinner somewhere from 30-60 bucks and not break the bank. Are you people charging these 100 + meals? This is one reason so many people are in debt, now get off my lawn
