Probably around 3 dozen would be my limit...and that's if they are good and salty.

Speaking of salty, I'm reminded of a time when I took my Dad to Acme Oyster House in Covington to divulge in some of the slimy marcels. The young waitress was high energy and very attentive, so I asked if the raw oysters were any good.
She assured me that they were really, really good! I asked, "Are they salty?" Her response was, "not at all!"
Your comments, please

Not a single one raw, but if you fried them up I might eat all of them. Watched my dad eat 7 dozen once.

My comment is that oysters have a range of salinity, and some of the most popular (and my personal favorites) fall in the low range of salinity. So, I would personally describe very good oysters as not being “salty”.

Your personal preference may vary.

I understand your point, but to answer "not at all salty" is ignorance of oysters on her part.

I could do at least 2-3 dozen. Definitely don't see myself eating more than 5 dozen, comfortably.

3/4 of them.

So... 12 dozen or so.

I'll need about 20 bud heavies, a bottle of tabasco, and a shrimp fork.

Not always. I order form Oysters XO all the time and some of these varieties are too small and puny to be worth the trouble (and money). My last order of Navy Coves fell into this category. About the size of your thumbnail.

olks in Louisiana don’t generally like to hear it but wild gulf oysters are good but they are about as bad as oysters get imo.

In warm weather for sure. This time of year they're fat and salty and pretty awesome.

That’s why I posted it to the OT…admins moving it stopped the great responses and downvotes.

Beer, Four Roses…just saying if you were going to just eat oysters…how many? 12 dozen is the gauntlet, not that I believe that.

Back in my 20's, over the span of about 2 hours, with beer, I casually ate 5 dozen. I was just sitting around drinking at an oyster bar with some friends. I didn't stop because I was filled up, we just decided to go somewhere else. Today, if I were trying to see how many I could eat, I'd probably predict 3 dozen, but I need a few beers to with and, again, probably at least an hour and a half. I have never tried eating them for speed.

Balls shoot me an email and I’ll make that up to you. We have been selective selling to XO recently as he wants a smaller oyster for cheaper shipping. Not always optimal for our customers.

Dude, that's very generous but not necessary. Im a big fan of your oysters. This is the only "complaint" I've ever had with them. They tasted excellent but we're just so tiny. Is there a better place to order them from than XO?

Bon Secour Fisheries retail will ship direct 2 day ground shipping will run around $120 for 100 count box. Cheaper if you are less than 200 miles.
