Bingo. Everyone is again at Sysco, where the hell do they think EVERY restaurant gets their supplies? If it’s not Sysco, it’s PFG, Ben E Keith, S&W, Natco, Scariano, Frank Christiana, etc.

Probably close to 20. Most have been above average. We use the show as a restaurant guide when we travel.

I’ve been to about this many as well, but have found the opposite. They all have something “weird” on their menu like an oversized item or a special mashup (which is why they get on the show), but most of it is just meh.

We still have fun going, and we enjoy the quirkiness of the locations though.

My wife and I started RVing around the country 15 years ago and always went to DDD places if we could. Stopped counting at 77 places and enjoyed most of them. Still adding to the list every trip.

I laugh when people say “all their food tastes like it comes from Sysco.”

It’s really just people who don’t know better. Sysco is a food procurement/distributor and brings the food the restaurant orders. The exact same truck that just dropped off food at some crap restaurant then drives to a Michelin star restaurant to bring them their food.

Yep. I used to do food orders and you can get these companies to deliver damn near anything. Some good and some bad but it’s not like it’s all just a generic “Sysco” product.

No reference to Louie & The Red Headed Lady in the north shore

Food was ok, but them having the Triple D episode on loop was awkward

Doesn't say, but those are pretty common spots for shows to hit.

I like Parasols more for the old neighborhood vibe.

It's a connotation.

If you don't know what it means to taste like sysco food warmed up then you have never had the same cheesesticks and marinara at 50 different places across BR.

How do you know it came from Sysco and not USFoods? Or PFG? Or how do you know they didn’t drive and pick it up from Restaurant Depot? Where do you think restaurants get their food from? Do you think high end restaurants all have some magical special place that only delivers to them?

All food distributors have catalogs of food that hit every price point a restaurant might want. Shitty restaurants choose the cheapest shitty thing they can buy and serve.

Again. Connotation.

Like saying, man, there is a little mom and pop around the corner. Doesn't mean there is actually a mom and pop in the back. It is a style, a taste, a lack of creativity.

Not trying to besmirch your company name.

I don’t work for Sysco and haven’t worked anywhere in the food industry for over 15 years.

Sysco isn’t a “style” it’s just meant as an insult by people who don’t know better because they saw a Sysco truck delivering to a shitty restaurant.

Instead of blaming the shitty restaurant you want to blame the food distributor. It’s dumb and lazy.

pretty sure the original comment was made towards restaurant and not the distributor.

Don't think anyone on this board has any issue with Sysco or what they distribute.

I appreciate Sysco donated our hog this year as well as some other items.

I feel like you’re getting hung up on the word Sysco being used and not the spirit of the comment.. which was that said restaurant isn’t making their food from scratch and instead heating premade food.

You are correct, but Sysco has been used routinely on this board to represent premade food. It’s a mischaracterization and inaccurate and needs to be pointed out.

Been to 8 that I recognize. None were bad, only a couple truly memorable.
