My grandma gave me the turkey carcass last Sunday so I could turn it into stock. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Think it’s still good? Or should I toss it?

When was the turkey cooked? A week later, I’d be hesitant, but if it smelled ok, I’d probably boil it. But if it’s not done tomorrow, I’d definitely toss it

I cooked mine most of the day yesterday and will resume today…are you using a crockpot? I was wondering about going this route one of these extended simmers.

I would toss. It’s been 7 days, and whatever you make with it would sit even longer.

No it’s been in the fridge. I had the best intentions, I swear.
I’m probably going to toss it

Large stock put. Electric LG cooktop.

Setting triple burner to one holds my big pot at 200ish degrees.

We were just busy and had too many leftovers.

This is where an electric pressure cooker, like an instant pot, comes in handy. Stock in under 2 hours.

It’s cooked meat. How long do you usually keep cooked meat in the fridge? 4-6 days is my rule of thumb.

I just discovered this, did it for the first time yesterday. Made a great bone broth. Although with a 2 hour cook time and natural release, it took closer to 3 hours.
