Seems like he is little more than a landlord these days with the partnerships on Freret.

I've eaten there twice - before he was hated.

Both times were very different (one was great; one was meh) - quite inconsistent.

ETA: I got the same thing both times, so the comparison was valid.

My wife loves Ancora and haven't been there in awhile.

If he's no longer associated with it at all I'd love to go back.

Still listed as part owner, not sure what his take is though.

Could just be that he is holding the business license/lease/alcohol permit for the new owners.

For 10 years I read on this site that La Boca was the best steakhouse in New Orleans. Apparently owner made a tweet supporting either BLM or masks(not really sure tbh) and now he is a cuck and his restaurant is to be avoided at all costs.

Cancel culture strikes again.

nope

Cancel culture would be trying to close his business down against his will.

Individual consumers can choose to spend their money elsewhere. Still enough people who agree with the owner to keep them in business.

Can anyone elaborate?

The district bar down the street held a fundraiser for the daughter of one of their bartenders who had recently passed away. That cocksucker called the cops and had it shut down on the basis of too many people there during covid. frick that piece of shite. I haven't been back since and I used to go often.

I’ve never had a bad steak at La Boca. If Argentinian wines are your thing you’ll love it. Personally I’m not a fan of the carmemere and Malbecs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Bordeaux or any kind of old world wine on his list.

First of all, if the best steakhouse in nola has to lie about having Kobe beef, then that's a damning indictment of the city's steakhouse selection.

Second, he crassly mocked the young family of a state senate elect who tragically died of covid for not "believing in science:...nevermind that the guy who died bucked national GOP trends and always made a point to campaign in a mask. The guy's crime was to say that we needed to open up the economy and balance it with Covid precautions. Letlow was actually really well liked in the JBE administration too and there was a lot of disgust all around at the fat frick's comments. Adolfo just needed to find a target to spew his vitriol at so he chose a grieving wife and kids. forgive me if I don't want to give him my money. I hope that clears it up for you.

No one here is actively trying to destroy this guy's life just for a simple disagreement, which is what your ilk does.

The things this guy has said and done and supported are totally despicable.

If I didn't go to everyone restaurant whose owners I didn't agree with that would exclude MANY great restaurants.

Not sad to hear about this. I called there to place a to go order and I got some sort of auto attendant lecture that if you are a white nationalist racist they don't want your business. It was weird to say the least.

I can't imagine that's ever been close to accurate.

Actually it was. Always mentioned when steakhouses were discussed. The TD search feature isn't great, but easy enough to see that it was highly regarded.

That said, I haven't been in two years. I usually don't let politics one way or another determine where I dine, but Garcia's comments about Letlow were over the line.

This. I will go out of my way to avoid supporting anything he is affiliated with, and I frequently encourage others to do the same.
