There was construction going on at the old Corky's location nearby. Anybody know what's going in there?

In other news, the old Romano's Italian Street Food location is now a sushi joint.

How did that happen? They had people waiting to get in at all hours of the day and night.

Yeah I saw that too.

Hillstone has closed other locations over the past few years as well including the original Houstons location in TN.
Pretty sure they lost their GM to Legacy Kitchen when that opened last year.
Went to the Metairie Houstons a few months ago and service was sub par. They are typically known for being some of the best managed restaunts in the industry.

I'm being told that the number of orders returned and meals comp'd is what ultimately drove that location into the red.

Thought it sucked for many years now..fell off a cliff long ago.

Like for how long?

Somewhere in the past ten years..had two very underwheleming trips over that time. Loved it in the 1990s.
Sorta liked that Phoenicia behind it in same lot, a few different trips.

They were never in the red, they do north of 7 million a year. Its a cooperate company that just decided it didn't want to be in Metairie. The Hillstone restaurant group has so much money they can do whatever they want. I am pretty sure they also own the land. Cooperate came in and told the staff that this location ran its course. They're offering a severance at least and a few people who have been with the company awhile an option to transfer. More than what Stella! and Brennan's did. I worked at this location for over 6 years and still know a few people that work here. No matter what people think about this place be considerate to the fact that about 80 people just lost their job. They have line cooks and servers who have been there 20 plus years.

Hopefully all ends well for the staff. Get good local gigs, and quality severance.
I've always been curious why J Alexander's never set up in Nawlins or better yet the Northshore? Then again, NO is a very competitive market, and not as big on chains as are other markets.

Metry is just as big on chains as any other area.

I went in the 90's as a kid a few times.
The tenders were good. That's all I remember.
Well, I remember the smokers on the patio waiting for tables too.

Crazy. I've been there over 2 dozen times over the years since I was a kid. Greatest french dip and grilled artichoke app was the shite.
