Best I've ever had was from a small place out in N.O. East on Chef Hwy. called Ying King, but they've been closed since Katrina.

I live in Mid-City and get it from Five Happiness and it's a decent Hot & Sour Soup.

Chinese Kitchen on Carrolton has the best Hot and Sour soup I have ever come across and it is not even close.

If you go there, go early, pack heat and watch your back!

It's well worth it, though.

Chinese Kitchen

It is a good place and yes watch your back..
When I was a kid my dad and were driving down Carrollton and they had one of these rolling signs where you put letters for advertising. Someone rearrange the letters to say "Chinese shite".. That had to be over 40 years ago...

Dragon King on Claiborne by the Circle K is the best Uptown. Ask for it extra spicy, it’s great hangover food.

It's the gold standard in the area.
