Have one from a ham I received. Don't want to toss it, so F&d gimme some ideas.

Also, I was leaning towards a pea soup concoction.

They work well with white beans. Used to be able to buy them for $5 at their retail locations. Not sure if they still sell them that way.

Split pea soup is a good idea.

White Bean soup. We make it every year with the ham bone.

Honey baked ham bone BEFORE the holidays? Ok, Mr Moneybags…

ETA: I can’t imagine it being bad in a pot of white beans.

They still sell them at the stores, about $8-9 now , but they have a TON of meat still on them, I don’t think you can make a better pot of white beans withou one

I cook it down in red beans.

It adds a little sweet to the red beans which makes for an interesting taste. Causes the cornbread to hit different

A honey baked ham bone will make the best pot of split pea soup, white beans, or black eyed peas you've ever had.

We get a HBH every year for Thanksgiving and I always use the bone for split pea soup. One of my favorite after holiday treats.

You could always freeze it and save it for later if you don't want to use it immediately.

Here's something different I haven't seen anyone suggest as long as there is a decent amount of meat left on the bone.

Make stock out of the bone and make a ham and egg pie. Similar to a chicken pot pie but it has ham, eggs, and green peas with the ham broth for the filling

The only time it is worth making BBQ baked beans is when you have a holiday ham bone, IMO.
