Looks like I'm getting a monster mill from Santa.
Santa is a smart smart man. I really really want a mill and drill soon. I have $150 in gift cards to the homebrew store in Jackson. Might have to get them to sell me a mill.

Speaking of Christmas presents, what was on everyone's list in regards to beer or homebrewing?
I asked for a couple of replacements shanks for my jockey box (since I am borrowing 2 at the moment). I asked for another bourbon barrel but I don't think that materialized.

Got this from my whole family as a Christmas present. Picked it up early so I already have it.
Picked up a larger 15.5gal kettle that I'm gonna add a valve to for my christmas present to myself

It's super badass. Really love it. Necessary, GOD no. But I had nothing else I wanted and my family loves my beer hobby. Pushing for me to try and make it more than a hobby so I can appreciate the gift.

Headed to San Fran in 3 days. If I bring back some Pliny the Elder, we'll have to crack into a few with a stogie before I head to training.

Don't think I'll have any real beer related gifts. Just tons of moral support. That's the kind of gift that you can't wrap though.

I got a nice mash paddle and a wort chiller. Now I need to brew another batch. Looking at doing a milk stout.

Anyone competing in the Louisiana Homebrew Club Competition? The entry date is Feb 21st and Im trying to figure out when to brew for it. It's my first competiton I'm going to enter.
Gotta figure out what to do because most of my favorite brews don't really go with a traditional category... Still excited to have my beer judged.

I'm currently sitting in a place called Craft Brewed in Nashville. It's a combo LHBS/taproom/growler fill/bottle shop. Pretty excellent. Grab a pint while you wait to get supplies. I approve.

What's the homebrew competition coming up here in BR? Southofsouth, it may be the same one. Somebody made a post with the details a while back.

i will be entering but probably not a bunch of beers. I will probably only enter the American Amber category, unless I happen to brew a beer from one of those other categories that I really enjoy. Kind of turned off of competitions recently.

Actually just put my imperial espresso stout into a few bottles for this competition yesterday. Depending on how my double IPA I brewed last week turns out, I may or may not enter that one as well.
If I don't brew tonight, I'll brew on the day after Christmas. Either the pecan winter warmer to put in the bourbon barrel or my peanut butter chocolate stout. Gonna do both in the next week though.

I stopped relying on Santa. He's not that smart. I get messages to him via his "elves".
Although, as someone else stated, sounds like the elves are going to get docked this year as apparently my message was not heard, errrrr, delivered.

The fiancee let me build a brew shed this fall and it went a little over budget.
I'm hoping that for Christmas I'll get the ok to finish it out with drywall and flooring.

I went ahead and ordered a second keg to go with the kit Santa brought, while Mrs Claus still thinks it's a good idea.
Will be on the hunt for a garage fridge after the holidays
