It would have been fairly easy to navigate without the mud.

Could have used another ticket booth (the ones selling the food tickets, I mean).

That's really my only quibble, besides the mud, which the event coordinators of course couldn't control.

True. I waited in line about 40 minutes combined to get money from the ATM then to buy tickets. One of the ATM machines was not working.

My fault for not bringing cash though.

my primary complaint was the lack of directions.. both on their web site and in the form of signs pointing where to park/enter. we drove around for a good bit before we found the correct entrance.

we parked at Delgado and walked. Just followed the crowd. Ended up being like a mile walk though.

damn that's a hike. we arrived at 1145 am and found a spot on a side street just across Orleans. only about a 10 minute walk. had to go through a group of kids getting their field day on at the track though. made me feel like a lazy fat frick.

the fried boudin balls w/ pepperjelly sauce (from the same booth that did the snowballs).

I enjoyed the taco, from the stand that was also selling lemonade, along with all those listed above.

Did any of you get to try the deep fried whole hog from the snowball stand? I had to leave before it was ready.

My suggestions for next year:

More ticket booths
More places to buy drinks other than beer
A map of the festival with the food booths' menu

What'd you think?

I heard Porkenheimer's porkball next door was awesome, and well as that beignet.

That $100.00 deal had to be well worth it.

By the time I attempted to get these, they only had a few remaining for the judges.

I had a map with the different booths, but it didn't list what they were cooking, only their names.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!! I made this suggestion last year, but was sad to see that it wasn't done. I heard several people saying that they wished they had this. Even if not to pass out the day of the event, at least post it to the website so that you can print it out ahead of time.

I agree. A breakdown of the members of each team listed somewhere would also be helpful. It was a fantastic event. I loved it, overall.

I'm sad that it will be on my wedding day next year, but we'll be back in the years that follow.

could it be that they dont print maps to give every team a fair shake. Actually make people walk around and check everything out, rather than put a map out where people will only focus on the names they know?
