The wife has a few days off work and I'm retired so we headed down to "Da Parish" and had lunch at the above institution of culinary abundance.

Foolishly, I ordered a full size po-boy----half shrimp and half oyster dressed and a beer to wash it down. The wife, more sane than me got the half size oyster po-boy dressed and a glass of wine.

I refused to not finish that sandwich and did manage to put it away, but I've been paying for it ever since with being so full I'm almost miserable.

I've gotten too old to eat like I use to in my youth when I could eat that sandwich with a large order of fries and wash it all down with 2 Barqs Root Beer sodas and still be skinny as a rail.

Oh, and we did leave with a large order of their delicious mac & cheese, but I will not be partaking of that until tomorrow night at best. I'm done for the day.

We got there at 11:30 and it was busy as hell and it looked like every cop in St. Bernard was there with the parking lot full of patrol vehicles.

They may have been having a meeting of some kind in the adjacent building that they cater events in.

I know one thing-----if you leave there hungry, it's your own damn fault.

Trust me, I wasn't constipated. I don't usually eat that much fried food and each half of that po-boy probably had a dozen or more fried shrimp and oysters on each half.
