yes. Sonny's has more of a meat selection and side dishes, but I would pick a few Hi-Ho sandwiches (beef or pork) over Sonny's 8 out of 10 times. Tom's chips aren't as good as Sonny's fries/toast, but damnit they will do when they are eaten with Hi-Ho.

i used to work/live in denham springs and would ride to hammond to get a box full of sandwiches and come back. eat off of it for days

eta: i know this question wasn't directed towards me, but i've wished for years that they would open a Hi-Ho within 10 miles of BR

That is just where the one in Hammond is now. Hwy 190 at Market Street.

The original Hi-Ho was at the corner of Hwy 51 and Hwy 190 and it was a service station. Right where the Walgreens is now.

No. I was told a month or two.

To answer the question about the original location: the original location was on the corner of Florida and Morrison, where Walgreens is. It was a gas station a few decades ago. It closed when the one by the walmart opened in the early 90's. There is another location in Ponchatula. I have only been there 2 times. There used to be a location by Southeastern, but it closed in the early 90's.

3 beef heavy on sauce w/hotsauce, Tom's potato chips and a cold Bud. It's hit and miss lately.
I don't think any are as good as the original when it was by Channel shopping center in Hammond.

FWIW this guy is dead, shot and killed over a incident with a dog in the 90's.
