I do not cook in enamel cast iron, I never really understood the reasoning.
I use mine for tomato or other high acid dishes. Jacked up the seasoning on a dutch oven one time cooking a sauce piquante or something one time years ago and have no desire to do that again. I got a coated lodge a while back and I like it for that. I go with a regular seasoned pot for non acidic dishes. I find I can brown stuff much better on regular cast iron than the coated one.

I bought one bc it was too good to pass up but it makes you wonder how high the markup is on these types of things

That’s a first! Thanks for the put down and not adding to the thread. I guess you are one of those people who fall in the negative comment making category, nice contribution.
Maybe you could educate us on your cast iron purchases and or use?

Can I get on your gift list?

I received mine last week. I ordered the graphite color. Beautiful pot. This is my first staub but I have several le crueset pieces. The staub just feels/looks better

FWIW, I bought the Staub 4 qt a couple of years ago...I like it but I prefer the Le Creuset (although good luck finding one for $99) because I really am not a big fan of the dark coating on the inside of the pot. For me, I think it makes it hard for me to determine when the fond goes from golden brown to burnt. Probably user error, but YMMV. Otherwise I really like the size when you want to roast a chicken or want to make something for a small family.

I don't have any coated non-stick pans anymore. I use cast iron, stainless steel, and Corning Ware.
