Help selecting a gas grill

I've always sworn by charcoal and wood, but thinking about adding a gas grill to my set up. Recently had a new deck built, and there is a large landing at the top of the stairs before you go inside to the screened portion. Around 5 feet by 8 feet, and there's a 36 inch door in the middle of the 8 foot side. Initial plans were to put my Weber Kettle up there, but thinking about cleaning out ash and dealing with the lid in a tighter space has me wanting something easy instead.

I want something with a small footprint, definitely want one side burner, and don't need a ton of grilling space. This would just be for quick meals, I would use the Weber for doing other stuff. Ideally it would sit at the end on the 5 foot space, so there would be room for the door to open easily, so nothing wider than around 4-4.5 feet. Since it has been about a decade since I've had a gas grill, thought I would see what everyone is using. Budget around $500, and my in-laws have hinted at getting us a nice Christmas present that would be something we could use on the deck. Already have a TV and furniture, so the wife thought maybe a new grill.
