I work near campus and have been trying to lose weight. I have been going to a spin class 3 times a week and swimming once a month. Ive been trying to eat healthy but I always relaspe with drinking and blue store or pasta.

Is this healthy? I eat lebanese food a lot, always get the chicken with hummus and salad. I also eat chipotle and get the bowl with no rice. I go to Subway, but for some reason it just tastes meh. I try to eat the plate lunch at winn dixie, but not many vegetables.

Im 230 now. trying to get to 180

Those aren’t the worst options, but if you want to really eat healthy you’re probably going to need to learn to start packing your own lunches.

Cook on sundays and do meal prep. Your lunches can be packed and ready to go for the entire week fairly easily.

There’s a new express hibachi place on Ben Hur and Burbank.

Also the sushi joint (Koi?) offers reasonable lunch specials that aren’t too terrible calorie wise depending what you opt for.

Five Guys does lettuce wrap burgers, which brings the calories wayyyy down but good luck not caving to fries.

Newks has their nutrition info online. Sadly, they’re way less healthy than you’d think but I’m sure there’s something there that’s decent on the body.

Chimes salads are good. Dressing on the side. Also this is surprising but their grilled chicken plate is awesome. They must brine it.

Express Bowl on Burbank. I haven’t been yet, but it seems like a good option.

I was gonna say Ingas. Newks for salads. Chimes has a few healthy options that are good they do an incredible blackened chicken that is a lot of food. Smoothie King has a few decent low calories smoothies if you into that. A little healthy eating mixed with consistent moderate exercise goes a long way. Even more of you cut out sugar both real or fake.

Newks salads can be anywhere from 500 to 1000 calories after dressing.

Learn to look at how many calories things have. Youd probably be surprised that healthy things like avacado, while good for you, wont help you lose weight.

Newks is insanely calorie laden. If you plan on getting salads pretty much anywhere, I'd suggest buying a low calorie dressing (or making one) to keep in the fridge at work. Even vinaigrettes are made with tons of oil, and restaurants slather that shite on.

Yep. Great for you, but they average 250 calories per. Even if the salad you're eating ~seems~ like a good option, too much dressing, avocado, and cheese can easily put it into burger and fries territory.

On a side note, I recently realized how dangerous Greek salad can be as well. Just looking at Newks nutrition information right now, the Greek dressing (not the salad itself) is 460 calories. For reference, a Big Mac is 550.

Hummus too, if you're not careful with your portions.

The common serving size of hummus (real hummus, that is), which is around one cup (220-240g) may contain 400-450 calories. And every pita (“pita bread”) contains another 270, so it's not really “dietary”

Yeah... that was kind of my point.

Yeah a chicken shwarma plate at Albasha can easily be 800-900 calories (that is my estimation..theu don't have nutrition online) because Greek salad and hummus. The hummus they serve is around 3 servings' worth.

the Union had a great salad place, cheap too and big portions.

I wish there was an authentic american plat elunch place with actual salad. Winn dixie had just cheese w/broccoli

taco bell has fresco tacos

Masturbating daily would burn more calories than this.

Don't drink alcohol. Drink a diet coke if you must have a soda
Eat twice a day
Don't ever snack, especially chips and sugary shite

If you do those three things, no one in my mind should be gaining weight. That's unless you're eating the biggest and worst servings of food you can think of

No plate lunches in South la are healthy, minus the baked chicken. Get green beans, carrots, corn for sides and tell the old lady you don't need the roll.

Robert's has baked chicken. Pretty sure Albertsons does also. Call before you go though and ask

If this is being eaten at home, just buy the rotisserie chickens that are already made. They're cheap and it's a good amount of food.

Honestly, you have to be in a caloric deficit at the end of the day. Lebanese food is very healthy, I love albasha, but you need to have things in portions and not in excess.

I'm in an intermittent fasting where I can eat for 8 hours, but fast for 16 hours each day. It helps with overeating in case you tend to be in a caloric surplus.

TLDR; just be in a caloric deficit and you will lose weight
