Will be in Hammond for the LHSAA basketball tournament this week. Looking for a casual pre-game meal for four or five adults.

It's amazing how long Mariner's Brady's and Trey Yuen have been around and relevant. Back in the mid to late 80s when I was at SLU those were go to places. Others as well but those are good ones.

Blackened Brew has much better beer selection and they clean their lines. I love Tommy's Pizza though

I'd also add:

Kirin for Hibachi- the lunch prices are fairly reasonable.

Lee's Diner- I think it has reopened. The chef salad is one of my favorite things to eat when I'm in Hammond. The shake is also pretty solid.

Trey Yuen, Hammond location, is a shell of its former self. No where near the quality of the past.

I can see where you're coming from on some nights. On busy nights they probably should have three bartenders rather than two. I usually grab my beers out of the chiller and go the front register to put them on my tab. Fairly quicker when doing it that way.
