The patty melt at Freddy's blows the Whattaburger one away.

had one yesterday. That burger is missing THE key ingredient to make it a true What-A-Burger - The Toasted Bun.

Anyone that thinks Whataburger is good has obviously never had a real juicy burger. They are dry and tasteless. I can name a dozen places in my town that have better burgers.

well no shitn
It's a fast food burger. You want to tell us that the steak at applebees is shite compared to Ruth's Chris as well?

Whataburger is a great burger for a fast food place, but unfortunately it can vary from place to place. You get what you get when you go to a fast food place though.
Recently had the double smash burger from Sonic, first time i've ever eaten a burger at sonic, and it was pretty damn good.

No. No it's not. I feel sorry for anyone that thinks it is. You have to really have a bunch of crappy hamburger joints around you to even think a Whataburger burger is good.

100% true. Just keep in mind the people giving you dv are the ones that think Popeyes is good.

Both the A1 Thick & Hearty and the Chophouse Cheddar Burger were excellent and they inexplicably removed them from the menu and replaced them with the meh Sweet & Spicy Bacon thing they have now. It's a huge downgrade and I wish they would go back. The CHCB was my favorite fast food burger for years.

Couldn't agree more. Had it for the first time a few weeks ago. What a laughable letdown. It's just a plain burger. Not even top 5 in terms of taste.

As far as taste here in Columbia SC

Freddy's Steakburgers
Rush's Hamburger
Zesto Hamburger
Maurices Bbq Brisket Burger
Hardee's
Burger King Whopper
Rosewood Dairy Bar
Our local What-A-Burger ( which has nothing to do with dry whataburger and has been here for decades)
I would even take the Sonic double cheeseburger over a whatacardboard burger
These are all fast food burgers

You would think the food board would have people with better taste...

So five of these nine listed are local/regional type spots? Because I think what folks here are trying to argue is overall more national fast food chains, ie McD, BK, Wendy's, etc.

Which I'm going to have to just disagree on your choice of BK and Hardee's over Whataburger. Sonic too from my previous experiences, though it sound like this new burger of theirs could be good. I haven't eaten Sonic in a few years, and even then, was their hot dog.

We have a Freddy's nearby, though I've never tried it. I need too. My youngest kid likes the burgers there.

That's why I said I could name numerous ones around ME. I'm stating the fast food must be better than elsewhere.

Go order the Prime rib steak burger from Freddy's and let me know where whataburger stands. It's worlds apart

So you listed 8 other places and only 4 of them are national chain fast food joints.
What part of that don't you understand?

No one is claiming whataburger is some awesome hamburger, just that it's a really good fast food hamburger when compared to mcdonalds, BK, Dairy Queen, Wendy's, etc. It's still a crappy fast food burger.

I've had burgers from whataburger that were great, and some that just weren't that good. Its really does vary from place to place. Hell I think the one on Siegen here in BR tastes different today than it did a few years ago. It's a lot crappier now, but i've also noticed the service there has declined significantly the last year or so. Nothing fast food about that place anymore. I could go to Riverside Patty down the road and order a burger there and get it faster than going through the drive thru at whataburger.

I'll reiterate that the double smash i got from Sonic recently was pretty good, and i'd eat that one over the whataburger on Siegen.

I tell you what why don't you help me understand because absolutely no where does the OP's opening post state he was comparing national brands. In fact they compare it to Dairy Queen which Columbia doesn't have so I wouldn't consider it National.

I'm stating that the Hamburger options in my hometown must be way better than where he is from.

There’s over 4500 in the US and 7000 world wide.

If you're going to Dairy Queen for a burger then you're idiot. Again the op never said he was comparing national brands

PJ's in Crowley is a good fast food burger that I prefer over Whataburger easily. But it's only in Crowley.

Same with Mama's Fried Chicken in Opelousas. Only two locations.

So while both can be "fast food", kind of different comparing Whataburger, Wendy's, etc. to those localized places.

no one said he did.
You're the one that said you had a bunch of burger joints better than Whataburger, which every person in this country could make that same exact truthful statement.

As i said, it's pointless to compare an applebees steak to Ruth Chris, just like it's pointless to compare whataburger to your local hamburger places outside of the common fast food places.
