That's sucks , as their flounder dishes were the real deal

Years ago I was good friends with the head chef who was part of the Guidry family . At one time Guidry's closed for a month due to family conflict and leasing issues. They re-opened and appeared to be doing fine, especially since the parking lot is usually full and the location is right across the street from the Hilton (Double Tree)

No clue why they shut the doors for good as the previous issues may have surfaced again with no family agreement

Does that hotel do a good amount of business? Seems like anything off Pinhook is tough to access due to insane traffic.

Guess it wasn't hip enough for the younger business people in town.

Was always excellent, fresh seafood prepared well.

I really hate to hear that. Ate there a lot when I was in Lafayette on business and staying at the Hilton. Didn't really see blue hairs there, though, but maybe I ate later than they did. There was always a good crowd which was a mix of families and couples. I don't really care whether the crowd at a restaurant is young or old. I enjoyed their food. Darn.

I heard it was some of those same issues. An illness in the family as well.
Small businesses are taking a beating in Lafayette.

Bon Temps Grill says hello. BR can lay claim to that title. Laffy is a Mecca compared to the capitol city.

Sorry to see them close. Have to admit, we've only been once, but the food was good and reasonably priced.

+1 on Bon Temps Grill. Had the 6 oz filet there last week ($21) and it was very good. Love that place for lunch as well. I hope they make it at that somewhat odd location. The wait staff is very friendly.

1 restaurant doesn't prove your point. Lafayette does have a TON of chains. Guidry' s reef was OG laffy, My grandparents lived in Bendel. We are there a lot

Was there for lunch a few Saturdays ago and we were the only table in there for lunch. Great place though.
