Then you're drinking the wrong kind of beer.

I think the amount of wines, regardless of closure, meant to be drunk within 5 years of release is probably closer to 95% than 65%.

I wouldn't disagree with that, and most of them are under a cork style closure. Most of the European nations haven't fully adopted the stelvin closure. North America, Australia, and new Zealand use them the most.

You hung yourself on your original post. Then dug the grave in the Mondavi over beer retort.
Please go back to the rant as you have absolutely no clue on wine or food. Childish tandtrums are a sign of intelligence of which you have shown none.
For the record there are many wines with screw tops that are better than any cheap arse crap you think is good.
If you want to bring me into a conversation just highlight it. Sorry for good taste. Dumbass.

Yep, no longer does twist top = bad although it still has that stigma

Naw breh you wouldn't have brought a side dish or wine you would have been turned around at the door.

Mondavi, in the majority of its products, is crap wine. Liberty school was good when Caymus owned the property over a decade ago. By his post I would assume its the lesser of the mondavis. But that is not to say that with all the money mondavi has, that they make only crappy wine. Their napa series are solid go to wines when selection is limited. Their botrytis semillion, oakville and reserve cab, and SLD Fumé Blanc are phenomenal wines. And for someone who has never been to wine country or may be a novice, they do a pretty thorough and educational tour.

I've been to Napa, Temecula, Pahrump, Luna Rossa, and St. Clair.

Posted by Message lilwineman Guests Coming Over and Bringing Wine Wine with a twist off cap isn't always bad. Plumpjack reserve is $200 a bottle and cade estate Howell mountain is $150. Both have screw tops. A ton of Oregon producers believe in this because of the "green" concept behind it and the lack of TCA or cork taint. However hob nob is pretty "inexpensive" juice. Don't shy away from all wine with "stelvin closures" as they are called by industry professionals. Screw top sounds negative, stelvin sounds scientific.
My bottle of Conundrum had a screw top on it and I don't consider that a cheap wine

Conundrum is pretty expensive for the style of wine it is.
Apache: if you've enjoyed those places, next time stay in either the Santa rosa, Windsor, or healdsburg area in the valley. Slightly more slow paced and healdsburg has a great people scene on weekends with some cool bars and restaurants within walking distance of one another. If you're wanting to take it a bit slower, do Willamette in Oregon. Much more casual pace out there and super friendly people.

Someone bringing beer or screw-top wine to your home offends you? You sound like a wonderful person to be around.

Many good wines out there have a twist-off. It's more a function of style of wine than pricetag.
You suck at being a snob.

The problem with a screwtop is its association with (drumroll) Boones Farm levels of wine.

Mondavi is meh

Less offensive than bringing beer.
If someone brings you a bottle of a Chimay or Rochefort, you should drop to your knees and kiss the hems of his garmet.

I buy those little 4 packs of wine with twist off caps for cooking. It was such a waste when I bought a full bottle with cork when I only needed a half cup of wine in the recipe.

Try some of Mondavi's reserve offerings if you can get your hands on it.
Y'all need to listen to lilwineman.
