pube in mashed potatoes. Guess someone listened to a little too much Beastie Boys.

I sent it back.

I worked at a restaurant that would box your leftovers up in the back. I guess out of habit many of the waiters would scrape the plate into the trash without thinking. I can’t count the amount of times I saw trash can juices being wiped off of a chunk of steak and thrown into a box.

Having lunch at On The Border about 15 years ago...ordered a taco salad. Ate a few bites, then moved some lettuce and found a used band-aid still in its circle from being fastened around someone's finger. Was nauseated the rest of the day. Never returned.

I worked very briefly at Chicago's in Baton Rouge which went through a lot of sweet potatoes. The staff would hollow out the potatoes and use the tops of the salt and pepper shakers inverted as a screen to smoke weed out of the potatoes. The restaurant had a whole bunch of S&P shakers with no tops, rendering them useless at the tables. Also, the potatoes that were used to smoke from were then made into side dishes for the customers, and the walk in cooler where all of the food came from was a perpetual haze of smoke.

Rum House New Orleans. Live cockroach upside down on the top of my wife's salad kicking its legs. It was served this way. Haven't been back to eat and that was 4 years ago.

I think of this Hannibal Buress stand-up he did on Jimmy Fallon about New Orleans whenever I hear about dirty New Orleans restaurants.

Here is the LINK on youtube. It's 5 minutes and 30 seconds long and if you're from New Orleans I think it's a must watch.

Was at a long time favorite Mex joint in town. Ended up sitting towards the back which is near the restrooms. Random dude walked by us to get to the restroom, it was occupied so he just f'n puked in the floor and went back to his table. He was so close to the back exit he splattered on the damn door but no he just blows chunks inside and walks back to his table.

I was eating at my favorite local restaurant. When a big cockroach began crawling up the wall above a two top next to the door in August. Of course the 2 women sitting there were grossed out and called for the owner. The owner comes over starts explaining that it’s hot outside and unfortunately it’s hard to control and sometimes roaches come in. Not buying it, as I sit next to this table and listen what’s going on, the owner turns to me and says help me out here. I stand up and introduce myself, welcome them to the city and explain the issue almost like in the video above. One lady says I get it “not bothering me” however, the other lady did not want anything to do with it. I asked where are you from, she replied, Philladelphia. I said y’all don’t have cockroaches? Come’on now, you mean to tell me you never seen a roach in a Philly restaurant? I said to myself, yankee and sat down.

Found a smoked cig butt in bottom of my crawfish tray at Deanies. Came so close to eating because it looked like a mushroom stem, but then I pulled it apart and saw fibers. Then I put to my nose and confirmed what I thought and nearly puked. I still think I was way to nice too the manager.

I thought it was more a homosexual relationship issue. It's been a while so my memory could be wrong.

Not once, but twice have I found a screw in my meal. Two different restaurants. Both times they didn't even offer to comp the meal.

One place was a hole in the wall taco joint...not surprising. One was a nicer clean restaurant that you would definitely not expect something like that.

We were in Mestizo's when it was on Sherwood, there were 4 people sitting at the table next to us. One of the ladies started choking, violently choking, her husband patted her on the back and kept asking 'are you OK?', but he never stopped his conversation with the other couple. It became apparent that this lady was in trouble, I got up, pulled her up, Heimliched her, something came flying out of her mouth, then she threw up on the table and her husband.

She was now crying and hitting her husband, this was a very small restaurant, but everyone stopped and watched this spectacle. She thanked me, got up and walked out. A car peeled out and hit Sherwood going fast.

The husband was still sitting there with vomit on him asking "what was I supposed to do?"

It was funny, disgusting and sad.
