Should be close. Someone posted last week about some places having some small ones.

Yes they have been available at the produce markets in Ponchatoula and Hammond
I’m assuming Southside Produce in Denham has them

Yes, the produce stands have said the peanut harvest is early this year. Most should have them.

I got a sack yesterday for the first time. I usually just get a couple gallons at a time and do them inside on the stove. I have a 20-24 qt stock pot that I want to use to do a larger amount at once. Do you have a good method and amount of salt to use? Thanks

I generally go a cup to 1.5 cups per gallon of water. But I usually cook them in a pressure cooker, and use 1.5 cups per gallon since they are not simmering/soaking as long. I put them on medium heat, let the pressure come up, and turn it down to medium/low and let it go about 20-30 minutes, then cut the heat. It takes another 20-30 minutes for the pressure to drop, and then I take them outside to release the pressure but leave the lid on loosely until they cool off, usually 45 minutes to an hour.

I have done them in a larger pot before, and it just takes time boiling until they're done.

Po folks on lobdell has had them for over a month. Got a sack today and they’re noticeably larger than the sack from the same supplier last week. It’s time.

And for those wanting a recipe, make your water taste like u want, then add the peanuts. Can’t miss. I use a combination of chicken bouillon, Louisiana powder boil, and salt.

Good idea for the pressure cooker. May do a small batch while I grill tonight.

I noticed this, too. They’re really getting big now.

I am doing some today.

3 lbs of peanuts
5 oz La Fish Fry Crab/Crawfish Boil...powder
1.5 oz Kosher Salt

Boil for 2-3 hours with 1 hours soak!

Price per sack? Washed or unwashed?

Washed. Didn’t buy a sack. Should have though. Sorry no info on price. They are good quality. Nice and full and larger than any I got last year.
