Gov't Taco - Opening next week

Looks like next week they will be open to the public. Do you plan on checking it out? Based on the review it's the White Star Market menu + a full bar now.

Good to see they’re opening... it’ll be a nice spot to hit for some tacos then walk across the parking lot to cypress coast for some beers

We are super excited to check it out. Cypress Coast has been a great addition to the area and Ducote has been a big supporter of theirs. They are going to do a lot of combined events and cross sales supposedly.
I am also excited to see how this tips Fleur De Lis over the edge. They have been extremely hostile to people that park in their lot, even if they buy pizza and walk over to get beer. They even walked over recently and just yelled at people sitting outside at Cypress Coast assuming they had parked there.

Wish I could say I’m surprised, but the level of shithole of the FDL ownership is known. Screw nostalgia. People need to let that place disappear.

I've only had Gov't Taco once but I thought it was solid. More taco places is never a bad thing.

A lot of people in the area have soured towards them including some of the old folks that I would assume would be their base. The Cypress Coast folks have offered to pay them to use the empty spaces and they’ve refused, which is their right but it’s not super smart. That lot is ALWAYS 60% empty and being jerks isn’t going to do them any favors. I am always amazed at how these older places manage to stay open when ownership refuses to adapt to the times.

We went there for dinner on my 21st bday and they tried not to give me a beer because I had a Montana ID. They were just like well thats obviously fake.

I don't put much stock into individual Yelp reviews, but when there's a trend there's usually something to it. Sorting their reviews by "lowest" is hilarious.
My friend worked there and always told me the owner was terrible, but the reviews really lay into her.

Yeah I tried parking there Friday night and the owner walked up to my car and yelled at me for parking there. I'll never eat FDL pizza again.
