The frogging guide is a good LSU baw. Played rugby with him back in the day.

Yeah none of the guides they used made Louisiana look bad in anyway imo

I like Gordon, but hated the yelling bullshite of his other shows.

His UK shows were much better.

Eh...you could tell they were going at some random time during the day and by the way they were dressed, it was probably December or January

Then they should have done duck, deer, oysters, tuna, squirrel

Thein shows him how to catch this Louisiana delicacy in the marsh, and then Nhu walks him through her secret “Viet-Cajun” style recipe for the crawdads.

Saucy crap. Boil is better. This stuff is only popular outside of Louisiana

I was in Dublin Ireland recently chatting with a cab driver who informed me that his favorite TV show was Swamp People! When asked what made it special to him, his comment was that it was just so different than life there.

Cajun stuff has an international following.

I don't know why but this list cracked me up, that Louisiana is considered as "exotic" as these other places. I know we have one of the world's most unique culinary styles but when you see it alongside those other places it just made me laugh.

Fair point. Also a fair point…I’d rather eat the arse end of a rotten nutria than eat Indian food.

FWIW. Talked to a guy who worked for GR and asked if he was an a-hole in real life. Guy laughed and said not at all. Said that it was completely a character he has created for TV and that he is a great guy to work for in real life.

That really comes across in his Unchartered show, which is great.
Still miss Bourdain and his kookiness.

A lot of his earlier English shows, show that too. Heck even some US versions like Kitchen Nightmares he only goes a-hole when people are jerks. He really tries to help people out if they are trying to do the right thing. Even the way he messes around with Nigel Ng/Uncle Roger you can tell he is a genuine decent dude.
