I have an avid armor chamber vacuum sealer about 1-1/2 years, wish I had got it years ago. Works great and also does soups, chili, gumbo, and you can get 250 bags for about $21.

Same here. I love my avid armor sealer. I do fish fillets, deer, left overs, gumbo, etc. not a single issue for 2 years

Stock, pizza/pasta sauce, etc.

It works like a charm for liquid based items.

We have an anova that does dry and liquid and it has worked very well.

You can usually catch them on sale on Amazon

Do you have the chamber or the standard vacuum sealer?

Is it big enough to do a pork butt in or is that not possible? I usually buy a few 2 packs when they're on sale and split/freeze for later.

I vac sealed a 6 pound boneless prime rib in the avid armor USV 32 chamber.

The issue is more the bag size. It was very tight in the 10x13 inch bags to get it in. USV 32 takes up to an 11 inch wide bag, which I need to get.

I think you could get an above average sized pork butt in there.

I got a JVR Vac100 and it’s amazing. Wish I had a chamber vac years ago. There used to be a 100$ off code “fireandwater” might still work.

With that said I could not do a whole bone in butt. I think I was able to get one in a bag that I de boned and cubed but it was tight.

With chamber vac you are supposedly able to still vac like the suction style but you have to use the right kind of bags. Maybe texture on one side type. I never tried.

THIS

I have the USV32 and love it

Packing deer, loose grind and sausage, sausages, leftover gumbo, marinating meats, etc

It's a beast

BUT if you don't use it a lot then it is likely overkill. The unit is large and bulky to store

I got the VEVOR Chamber Vacuum Sealer DZ-260C a month ago and it has been great. I wanted a big sealer but didn't want to spend too much money.

You need to figure out if you want. The larger and more expensive it is the better it will be. You need to decide what you'll be using it for mostly and if storage will play a factor.

I don't understand why a vacuum sealer is needed. I use a straw, inserted into zip lock bags, suck out the air, and seal.
