I’m gonna be in Birmingham this Saturday and was wanting to watch the LSU vs Texas game what are some good options?

What part of town?
My favorite sports bar in town is On Tap. They have a few different locations, and usually have a mix of fans. With Bama and Auburn playing cupcakes, there likely won't be many of them. There is one by the Galleria in Hoover, one out on 280 in the Inverness area, and one in Liberty Park. Good wings, and great beer selection.
I'm trying to remember where the LSU alumni spot it. I want to say it's Cajun Steamer in Hoover. It's more of a restaurant though.
According to this site, they'll be at Cajun Seafood House in Vestavia. I've never eaten there and know nothing about it.

Staying downtown at the Elyton Hotel. What about Sky Castle?

Sky Castle isn't a bad spot as far as TV's & drinks are concerned, but the food is pretty crappy. There are some decent food options around there though, so you could always go eat at any of them and just drink at Sky Castle.
Paramount Bar is real close to the Elyton and is good. Wings there are very good.

Good People Brewing and BWW are right next to Regions Park. There's also a bar district around 29th and 7th that will have plenty of good options. Both of these areas are decently close to your hotel and all will have the games on.

Cool place...meh food. It'd be a good spot to watch the game. Just don't plan on great food. Jack Brown's across the street had good burgers, and Hattie B's Hot Chicken is next door though.
I honestly can't think of a dedicated sports bar downtown.

I can't either.

Yep. Moe's BBQ isn't a bad spot to watch a game either.

There are several good food options in Lakeview (where Sky Castle is). I like the feel of Sky Castle, the food just isn’t great, not bad but nothing special.
I would grab something to eat beforehand, and then hang at Sky Castle for the game.

I also really like the bar at Slice, though I'm not a huge fan of their pizza. And they only have one TV and will likely have the Auburn game on that one TV. So scratch Slice from the list.

Yea, I'd say probably do Paramount or Sky Castle but get food elsewhere or Moe's BBQ.
Some of the Breweries aren't a bad option either. Most will have food trucks and what not, just depending on the schedule.

I think the only breweries I'd try to watch a football game other than Bama or Auburn at would be Good People or Back 40, or maybe Cahaba. Trim Tab only has one TV and will likely have the Auburn game on with the sound off and hipster music blasting. Avondale has terrible beer. Back 40 also has pretty good food and their own kitchen. Good People and Cahaba will have a food truck, but it's always a crap shoot which local one will be there. And i forget Ghost Train's and District Brewing's setups. I think they both have TV's, but I've never been to either to specifically watch a sporting event.

Agreed. I'd do Cahaba or Good People most likely if doing a brewery. Back 40 would be fine too.

Highly recommend the Baked Grits appetizer. It is delicious.
For Sunday, Trattoria Zaza is very close to your hotel and has a wonderful brunch. I love the french toast. Their scones are great too.
The Essential is another really good brunch place within walking distance of the hotel. It is a small spot, so there can sometimes be a wait.

They have one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in town. I'd recommend this as a place to watch the game. You can walk from the Elyton.
Also close is The Essential, Cayo Coco, and the Atomic. All places to get drinks. Cafe DuPont is across the street from the Elyton and is a white table cloth place. It's pretty good. The rooftop bar at the Elyton is a place to start and offers really cool views of downtown. One of my wife's favorite nights is Elyton rooftop bar, dinner at Cafe Dupont, and then wrap it up at the Atomic. All within walking distance.
Cajun Seafood on Rocky Ridge is one of my favorite seafood places in Birmingham. They don't do anything spectacular, but they serve solid food at a reasonable price. The service there tends to be slow.

Watch the game at Avondale. Their beer is good (now that good people owns it) and they're showing games on a giant outdoor LCD screen. Its badass, great experience.

The Crazy Cajun on 280 by Vallydale has good food and a nice crowd.

The LSU alumni chapter is having a watch party at Cajun seafood house in Vestavia if you want company....

Update for the OP.
Artwalk This Saturday
We got caught up in this unknowingly last night. Downtown Bham was hopping like I’ve never seen it before. All the bars on 1st Ave were packed with 20-30 somethings (Pillcrow, Collins, Cayo, Atomic, Essential). If you are at the Elyton, it will be packed around there with a lot going on.
We ate at Blueprint on 3rd for the first time last night. Wow. Food was above average, but the service was some of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. I would seriously go there just for this reason, but if you have Highlands on the list already, I’d stick to that.
For hangover Sunday, the Original Pancake House in 5pts is great for food and people watching.
