Well to be fair, we put down two bottles of wine at that type of dinner.
That’s $200 right there at a place like that, sadly.
Add in 2 apps at $15-$25 per, one each starting cocktail at $10-$15, two steaks at $50+ each, sides at $10 or so, and desserts..
We’ve gotten out of Ruth’s for $250, but tend to treat it as a treat and go crazy and then eat leftovers the next night.

Good point about wine. We’re bourbon and beer people.
Ruth’s cocktails are actually pretty reasonably priced.

We went pretty conservative with 2 couples splitting entrees but did balance that out on the drink side.
Our table of 3 couples had 4 appetizers, 4 entrees, 3 sides, 1 dessert, 3 bottles of wine and everyone had 2/3 cocktails each. We split the bill 3 ways and closed out at just over $300 a couple (including 20% gratuity).
From my experience there are just so many other options in Baton Rouge that provide more interesting menu options, at better prices, with better service and decor.

I’ll admit their menu just looks so underwhelming for the prices they charge. Just boring, steakhouse food.

That’s it, and I know it’s a board cliche but I just enjoy doing steaks and sides at the house. We tried going with the other other entree’s and they were all underwhelming. I ordered the Veal Milanese and I will admit I didn’t know what it was when I ordered so I do take a fair share of the blame for ordering blind (if I had any faith in the server I would have asked but had all but given up on him at that point). After researching it sounds like their’s was a decent version of the dish. Just the fact that they even put a dry arse chicken fried veal with some bland spinach leaves on the menu makes me question all of their other decisions.
A lot of people have been making the comparison to Ruth’s and the fact is you can go to Ruth’s for less $$ and get 10x the service.

Y’all laugh but the place is full of politicians, lobbyists, movers and shakers, and wannabe movers and shakers. For every Instagram poster, there’s 10 not posting.
What the frick

What exactly is a “wanna-be” mover and shaker?
Someone posted the definition of “mover and shaker” and you can’t figure this out?
Sixth and Barone must be disliked or that like Murr in Impractical Jokers because I understood exactly what he was talking about.

Same except we’ll have either a really delicious breakfast of steak and creamed spinach eggs, or a fancy lunch!

It’s amazing how some act when you post the truth and they don’t want to agree with it, they bash you for it.

If it makes you feel any better, you’re mostly getting bashed for who you are and not what you’re saying.

That’s what I figured.
Is “moontiger” normally a decent poster? Just acting like a turd in this thread?

What about my post is wrong? I know they are booked on weekends. Would you say 100 people a week have been there? For the past, let’s just say 2 weeks. That’s 200 people. And have you seen 200 Instagram posts? Nope. You only see the posts from those wannabes who want to be seen.
Baton Rouge is the Capitol city. Lots of lobbyists and politicians meeting with business men and women.
Who do you think backs political campaigns and pushes for legislation?
….these lobbyists and business people…movers and shakers.

As a former Louisiana lobbyist and current Massachusetts lobbyist, let me just say that you need to calm down.

Many posters show their arse in their disdain for me and many others like to follow. You’ll have to ask them their reason. More than likely, they can’t give you a legitimate, specific reason why they hate me. There are some facts about food, particularly meat processing, that I know to be true and have called their BS on and they don’t like it.
As the Massachusetts lobbyist, AbitaFan, admitted above, many posters on here downvote simply because it’s me and not based on what I post. Shows the maturity of these posters.

Calm down? Explain.
Are there not lobbyists in Baton Rouge meeting with others to get shite done?

I’m laughing at the gay arse way you typed that out. Oh wow, the movers and shakers!

You catch a lot of flak on this board because you come off as a condescending dick (see quote above). I don’t think it’s done on purpose but just so you know. Not really a big deal as it makes entertaining content.
I am looking forward to your review of this place if you ever go though as I know it will be detailed

Doesn’t Louisiana have a $65 meal limit per legislator... got to get creative with reporting at a place like that I guess.
