Been about 10 years since I was there looking for a restaurant, but the old downtown was pretty progressive with a few restaurants. There was a tapas place that filled the role nicely.

We enjoy Wine Bar especially if you dont want to head back inland. Flounders and Peg Leg Pete's are decent for what they are especially if you are traveling with children. Our favorite used to be Red Fish Blue Fish but they have recently changed their menu and prices, not for the better.

Never been to Peg Leg Pete’s (although I’ve heard about it and it seems the same) but I’d agree with this about Flounders. You could do better but it seems like the ideal place to go if you have kids. Didn’t recommend it since it seems like people on this board really turn their noses up at that type of restaurant

No better place for pounding Yeungling drafts and eating a dozen raw on the half shell.

The Fish House used to be very good. Haven't been in several years so I don't know if that still holds.

PegLeg Pete's is always a winner.

Hemingway's in Pensacola Beach is solid also.

And there's always Maguire's.

Jackson's Steak downtown for a nice upscale setting. The Fish House has good shrimp and grits. Dharma Blue was also good for funky vibe and good food. Tuscan Oven for pizza.

Global Grill for a white tablecloth restaurant. Jerry's Drive-In on Cervantes to experience a Pensacola institution.
Joe Patti's has a restaurant next door which I've been meaning to try. Probably the freshest seafood you'll ever eat.

Avoid the beach restaurants and the Fish House.

On the mainland check out The Oar House, especially if your a Jimmy Bufett fan. The Parrotheads meet there. Hub Stacey's for sandwiches.

Also if your into food trucks there's Al Fresco downtown.

This might help too:
