So my wife and I go to a friendly chili cook off with friends every year and we are trying to figure out what to make this year and would like some recommendations.

So we are trying for the most unique. Last year we did a bourbon peach chili and came in second. Wife is an LSU girl so she was thinking of a Cajun chili.
Would love recommendations.

Crawfish chili with white wine and mint. Sounds nasty but find the recipe....it’s kick arse.
Be sure to wash the tail meat very well to avoid too much of a seafood taste.

nigella Lawson has a chili recipe with a good bit of cocoa and cinnamon with cornbread baked on top of the pot. It’s really good and definitely different

Best : cook the meat & base in separate pots then add sauteed sofrito & combine just before serving. Did this to win annual chili cook off @ work on Tuesday.
Most unique: runner up made buffalo chicken chili & lost by two votes
Hottest (dumb) no suggestion here.

For a chili that will get people's attention, add spicy breakfast sausage to your meat mix. Use a good spice mix with fresh chili powder, and back off on the salt and add fresh lemon juice.

I’ve thought of smoking a butt and then making chili.

Someone on here said that they were at a cook off where The winners got cause with a few trash bags full of empty wolf brand chili cans. i just searched online to look for an article but couldnt find it.
so if you want to win get some wolf brand.

That would be awesome in a chile verde with hatch peppers.

Maybe throw in a bun or two to help it thicken
