You have to dig deeper than that. If you're gonna express your dissatisfaction, it needs to at least go to a specific person, and I don't mean Besh.

I've been 3 times, two for lunch and once late afternoon for a few drinks and some light grub to munch on and the OP fits my experiences perfectly.

10 or more minutes before drink orders taken/acknowledgement from waitstaff, waiters walking by table when the glasses are empty, having to flag down waiters for food order. Sitting at the table with empty plates and glasses for excessive amounts of time waiting on the waiter to come by and ask if we want our check...the food isn't good enough for that.

I never understood people giving up on a restaurant if the food is good because of bad service. Don't freaking tip then

Had one of the oddest dining experience ever at Luke. Long story short - Extensive tab had a bottle of wine that was supposed to be comped. Pointed it out to waiter who said he would take care of it. 30 minutes later - no waiter - he disappeared. Finally found a manager & he told us to walk. Tab was over $350.

You are crazy then. I don't get to eat out all that often and with the food being somewhat over priced to begin with, you better damn well have a well trained staff. Service issues piss me off. I want to relax and enjoy an evening out.

Never ate there. Went in on mardi gras for a beer run. Stood by the oyster shucking end of the bar for a minute. A couple sitting down at the end said they hadn't been helped in 15 mins. Walked to the other side of the bar, flagged the girl down and got a couple beers and left. I guess when I go to eat there, I won't sit at the bar?

I have literally been over 30 times. Never had a single service complaint. Can't wait until crawfish bisque hits the menu. Should be any day now.

I acknowledge and feel bad for those that have had service issues there BC the food is always great.

And I can definitely assure you that in France, I'd never be served wine in a water glass.

i haven't traveled all over France, but I've definitely had wines served in Paris in a non-wine glass, especially when served with a carafe.

I've probably been there about 10 times over the past 3 years and service has been an issue almost everytime. I always go between 3 and 6 to get 50 cent oysters and half off drinks. Like I said, I always order a drink ahead. So when I get a drink, I go ahead and order another one.

I have spent over a month in France. Typically when you order a caraffe or a table wine it is served in short bar glasses.

I've been there many times. I find the food to be ok. Service is usually ok, except on two occasions.

One was at dinner, hostess got all uppity about the two of us not having a reservation. Told is would be 20-30 minutes. My colleague and I are at the bar, after about 10 minutes, we realize there are empty tables everywhere. So, he went up to the other hostess, and she sat us immediately. Only real complaint after that was that my dozen raw oysters were short one. Not a real big deal, but wtf? how hard it to count to 12?

Other time was at the bar for a late lunch and drink. Bartender just gave shitty service.

Normally I get either the fried oyster salad, which is awesome, or the crabmeat omelet, which is hit or miss. I find their sandwiches to be way too greasy and rarely get any of those.

Thanks for your Paris recs.

Although, I only actually ate at one (Cafe Constant - tete de veau ), they all served as a good starting reference point. We meant to hit Willis the entire time we were there (even passed it a couple of times), but never actually got around to going in.

Maybe next time. C'est la vie.
