What is your best homemade margarita recipe? Need to make a big batch for a Mexican Monday dinner tonight. Not looking for the premade stuff. Willing to do fresh lemons and limes.
Thanks!

Thanks!

I like the 2-2-1-1 ratio myself.
2oz tequila
2oz fresh lime juice
1oz Cointreau
1oz simple syrup
2oz tequila
2oz fresh lime juice
1oz Cointreau
1oz simple syrup

Ice, 6 oz of tequila and a squeeze of lime. After two you won't give a shite what it tastes like.

This man knows what's up. You can use 3-4 of the little key limes, which are good as well.

I do large batches fairly often and have settled on the following, which is based on one 750ml bottle of tequila:
-25 oz fresh lime juice (12-15 limes)
-25 oz (one 750 ml bottle), blue agave tequila
-18 oz simple syrup
-2 oz Cointreau
-salt, to taste
I skip the salted rims and put about a half teaspoon of salt into the container and mix. You can up the simple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. I then refrigerate and serve over ice.

Two ounces of fresh squeezed lime juice
Two ounces of tequila
1-2 tsp of agave. Personal preference on sweetness.
Pour over four squares of ice or an ice sphere.
It really doesn't have to be complicated. You can sub Cointreau for the agave if you want. Squeezing enough limes for a big batch could suck, tho.

You're certainly welcome to your opinion. Your recipe calls for a higher ratio of Cointreau (which provides a lot of your sweetness) than I would enjoy in a margarita.

Common thread.
4-3-2-1
4 tablespoons tequila (don't skimp and buy shite tequila)
3 tablespoons orange juice
2 limes juiced
1 teaspoon agave nectar
Frozen or on the rocks. It's a fantastic margarita.

Equal parts Patron Silver, Cointreau, simple syrup, and fresh squeezed lime juice works really well for me, shaken, not stirred...
