Finally had this beer on tap at Mudtown in Cahaba Heights. Reading this board ruined it for me. No way it could have lived up to the hype. Very average.

I'm not a hazy ipa guy or Parish fanboy and even I believe ghost is deserving of the hype.

Tastes nothing like it did 3 years ago.
Now DDH Ghost tastes like 2015 regular Ghost.

Compared to what?

It's much better on tap than bottled. I'm kind of burned out on hazy IPAs, but Ghost is one of the better ones I've had. The really good ones all kind of taste the same to me though. Black Market in Colonnade has it on tap as well, or did a couple of weeks ago.

Mud Town Café is one of my favorite B'Ham places, I think it has NO roots. It has the look and feel of a NO neighborhood joint.

Cahaba Heights has a bunch of good places.

The original owner might have, but the current one is from Bham. He's a good dude.

Had it on tap in Bay St Louis Blind Tiger this weekend. Was surprised and pleased it was there. Could do much worse.

i love this beer from a bottle. Someone please recommend a cheaper and easier to find similar. i like Juicifer too, but it is not in the same league as Ghost.

I'm getting old so I may be mistaken, but the first time I went there, I think it was 2004, the owner told me he was from NO.

He may have. The current owner bought it from the original owner, but I don't know when that was. Around 2008 or 2009 I think.

If you like good beer you should try andygator. It’s the best craft beer from a microbrewery called Abita
Posted on 10/10/18 at 2:59 pm to el Gaucho
I like Andygator, but is Abita still considered a micro-brewery?

maybe the best beer in the state.

Living out of state, I often wonder how good GITM actually is. Is it more a good craft beer in a mediocre beer state, or a great beer? How would it compare to beers elsewhere?

Ranked in the top 10-15 for DIPAs in the latest thrillist list or whatever that is called. (Was for the entire country)
