Likely a total loss

This sucks. Best meatballs in town.

quote:

Gendusa's, at 405 Williams Boulevard, is known for its massive meatballs and large servings of Italian classics. It's in a building that was once Kenner's post office.

The building will likely have to be torn down, Kenner Fire Chief Terence Morris told Fox 8.

He said the owner, Troy Gendusa, was in the restaurants prepping for the day when he saw the fire. Gendusa escaped without injury, and no firefighters were injured.

Doubt it.

The place is 500 feet from a fire station.

Their pizza hammered. Sad loss. Really hope they rebound.

I hope they come back. When a post comes on here about the best pizza in the New Orleans area, I always list Gendusa's in my top 3. Delicious Italian food also, along with homemade gelato. And they don't have a liquor license so you can bring your own wine. We really like the place.

I really liked this place. It was on my to-do list of places to eat while in town from Houston.

I predict that we will see a lot of restaurant and bar "fires" this year.

He's already setting up shop in the parking lot. An A/C tent will be available for seating.
