so in other words, you know 2 people from ccla that come from 'old money'.

Galatoire's in BR expecting the same 'class' of clientele that visits the location in New Orleans, you'll be let down.
If you are trying to convince me that a bunch of loud, drunk, yat's are more "classy" than a Baton Rouge Galitoire's patron your parents must have pushed on your soft spot when you were a kid.
I have an office in New Orleans and have had for the last 15 years. I have spent many of lunches including Fridays at Galitoire's New Orleans. The only thing that makes it different is everyone gets drunk and stays all afternoon and into the night. The food is no better and the people aren't any farther up the social ladder than anyone else.
The difference between Baton Rouge lunch and New Orleans lunch is New Orleans never did away with the three martinis. Everyone else in the country did.

Typical phone call from a BRSO season subsriber from ccla from when i worked with the BRSO:
'can you put me down for an extra ticket for that concert next week, i wanna see that chinese man that plays that beethoven song so good, you know the Moonlight Serenade'.
...I might as well have been talking to someone from Livingston Parish.

The food at the NOLA Galatoire's is light years better then the BR one. I'll let you guys duke it out over the "class" of patrons...

So you are assuming that the doctors, lawyers, private business owners, bankers, etc... all come from 'white trash' families? Wow, that is an over generalized statement. Normally people that have upper class, prestigous jobs come from at least upper middle class social economic status if not higher. I have not heard of many people coming from lower social economic standings becoming lawyers, doctors, etc...Let alone 38 cases.

Maybe the folks that run the BR location don't feel the need to provide as high a quality food and service to its BR crowd....hmmm, I wonder why....

I eat at both at least once a month and this is not a correct statement.

You do realize that the current head of the kitchen at the New Orleans location just left the BR location to work there right??

Why the frick are you people having a pissing contest over other people's money? ToplessTenors, for someone who speaks of class, sophistication, ect. or a lack there of in the CCLA crowd, you sure as shite aren't showing any of it by debating money that you don't have.

If you're talking about Brian Landry, he's still working both locations.

Didn't expect this route for the thread.
Go with Mansur's in BR.
If you want to make it special for graduation, go to Galatoires in NO and stay down there. It would be worth it.

The food is the same? Heresy. The menus are not even the same. You are certainly entitled to your own opinion, but I think you are reaching...

I'm just trying to figure out when money had anything to do with class? I know plenty of classy people, some that are my neighbors in my "poor, white trash" neighborhood.

IMO they're both very hit or miss. I think I'd just flip a coin.

Old money folks are generally part of the investor class. They rarely have careers per-se.

I dunno the way I read this you are either old money or white trash.. There apparently has never been a case where middle to mid upper class has ever moved to the CCLA.

I wouldn't go with Maison Lacour. The food is nice, but it really isn;t worth the$...portions are TINY (at least @ lunch)
