Free meals @ Punjabi Dhaba in Hammond

From April 9 through 16, 1pm to 5pm. May extend past 16th if they feel there is need in the community. Also free meals to hospitals.

Its strange to me that a restaurant probably going through a tough financial time would be giving out free food, but god damn I respect the hell outta that.

The owners live in the same neighborhood as my friend and hes always telling me we need to go there and that they are awesome people. I haven’t made it there yet.

its in a gas station...almost all their volume is take out anyway. good for them for doing this, they are by far the best indian food in the area and they arethe nicest people you'll ever meet

They will still make money on the gas and grocery sales, and they will also create loyal customers for the future. It's a risky but very smart move on their part, especially in a town that is mostly made up of people who fear branching out from steak and fries. Good for them.

There were meals ready to grab when I went at 1:45. Some beans, potatoes and red bell pepper along with basmati rice. Came with 2 large pieces of naan. A small desert was available but I didn’t grab that. The food was well seasoned but not spicy. I would gladly pay $10.
