Being built on Siegen near Canes

Seems like that area is becoming oversaturated with burger joints...

Mooyah, Riverside Patty, Burgersmith, Whataburger just to name a few

I cannot tell from their site, but are their burgers made fresh on site? Are they a frozen Patty joint?

Everywhere has chains, even that beloved food city of Lafayette.

I really don't know anything about it. I just saw it being built and figured I'd report it.

They are opening one here in Lafayette. There will be a sonic, ground pati, mcdonalds burger king, wendys, 5 guys and a smashburger all within less than a quarter of a mile from each other.

No clue but burgers and shakes is essentially the same concept as burgers and frozen custard.

Where was this burger craze 15-18 years ago? Amazing how something so simple as a burger can have such an impact on restaurant fads.

While I can definitely appreciate and agree with that, I'd be happy about a frozen custard stand opening up in Baton Rouge, so I see no reason not to be happy about a frozen custard and burger joint

Yeah, I just figured it was a strange location. Mooyah is very similar, and Burgersmith just opened.

Woah there home slice, who said i wasnt happy?

Im a huge sucker for burgers and frozen custard. It does appear this place has a bit more fast foot appeal to it, but I have never heard of/seen one.

Lafayette is getting one of these as well (on Bertrand next to Rouses)

Never eaten at one, so I will reserve judgement until afterwards.

I'm pumped to try it. Hopefully it will be similar to culvers up north, which is fantastic for fast food.

Also, a lot of people don't understand just how great frozen custard is. The only custard place in the area I know of is Kades in Gonzales.

We went to one in another state while on vacation last year. It's more of a fast-food place with a drive-thru rather than a sit-down restaurant, but I'm excited about having frozen custard in Baton Rouge since we don't have one here. (I love the flavor and richness of frozen custard.)

It reminds me a bit of Steak & Shake, with shoestring French fries and thin hamburgers. We only ate the custard though, so I can't vouch for the food. IIRC, they have basic vanilla or chocolate custard with a large variety of toppings. You can also get "concretes", which are cups of custard whipped with a topping mixed in, kind of like Sonic Blasts.

Apparently we are getting two. They are building one the Costco development.

Freddy's is going to kill the competition. I think it's the best fast food burger out there. Their "concretes" are awesome too.

I've been to the one in New Braunfels a few times. Concretes are legit and burgers solid.

Sort of like steak 'n shake, but lots of dessert offerings.

I personally like Steak N' Shake but most posters here hate it from what I've seen.

That California-style double burger and Hawaiian concrete (add banana) look legit

Only thing better is a swedish fish gelati from Rita's (swedish fish water ice/italian ice + vanilla custard)

I'm looking forward to trying this Freddy's place.
