Went today picked up a few sandwiches. Their Italian is a good or better than any Italian I've had in the north east. The Gandolfini with the Olive salad is really good almost a mini muffaleta with arugula and less meat. The Raphael is a spicy Italian meats with melted cheese and hot cherry peppers it was also good.
In the past I've tried others and they have a lot of specials must have 30 sandwiches. Good when I don't exactly want a poboy. Like a better Jersey Mike's.

Gandolfini

Raphael

Italian

it's great. I'd go far more often if it wasn't always so busy

I called it in but it wasn't that busy. I have been when there was a line. They make the orders for the people in there before online orders. I went to pick it up and see people who ordered in person get theirs before mine was made. But it wasn't a long wait. I picked up some pickled veggies, a Boylan soda and some pimento cheese as well.

Nicolo is my favorite. If they run the Yelnats special, get that too.

If you like Francolini’s you really need to check out Lunch (terrible name, I know) on broadway in the same building as the Boot. It’s upscale Italian sandwiches, kind of the other side of the coin as Francolini’s. Think high end imported meats with pesto spread on foccaia.stuff like this:

Just as good as Franc’s

Damn, I didn't know about this place. I'll have to go soon.

New Orleans is an incredible city when it comes to sandwiches

Even if you don’t count poboys and muffs, there’s so many good sandwich options.
The ones mentioned in this thread, plus stein’s, countless bahn mi spots, martins, R&O’s.
I love sandwiches. BR has a few good options, but nothing like Nola.
