but will eat it if served to me. Just would not cook or order it. But since I am not 4 I will eat it.
This is how I am with pretty much anything besides things like the exotic foods in this thread.
I don't prefer raw apples of any variety, so I'd never order an apple salad or anything, but if it was served to me I'd eat it.
I can't get my brain to accept sweet shrimp (amaebi) you sometimes see as a special in nicer sushi places, and I don't eat the fried head that comes with it, but I doubt anyone will ever serve that to me unprompted

Nothing weird at all about not liking certain things.
There is definitely something weird about not liking non-offensive things such as celery, mayo, and lima beans

Eh, everyone has a handful of things they don't like. Those three are relatively common for people not to like in my experience. Limas and mayo especially.
Raw celery was my one other one besides apples for years. As an adult, I've forced myself to tolerate it.. so I'll eat it. For some people, it tastes like water. For others, it is incredibly strong. I'm in that latter party.

Yes, there are genetic deals that do make some foods taste bad while others don't detect it. I cannot drink tonic, as the quinine is bitter as hell to me.

Why ruin a great burger with a piece of moldy goo? And I do eat pizza- pepperoni, onion, bell pepper, no cheese, light sauce - try it and yall will stop putting that nasty yellow goo over the top of it too.

Only foods I can say with 100% certainty I’ll never eat again are claves liver and chitterlings. One food I’ve never tried, but will never eat is rutabaga. Smelled it cooking one time and that was enough.
There are other foods I don’t care for, but would eat in the right situation. Olives, pimento cheese, caviar, turnips and some others.

There's some exotic stuff listed that I have no interest in trying, but I will typically try most anything.
I am glad some of y'all won't eat beef tongue, heart and tail. All three are muscles, not organs and all three are quite good and overly priced right now. Heart is a bit harder to prepare well, but the others are easy.

Ripe cheese with a pudding-like texture. It’s actually not as bad as people say. I think the smell is the biggest thing to overcome
Posted on 4/18/22 at 1:40 pm to AlxTgr
soft, almost cheesy consistency. somewhat sweet taste but the overpowering aroma drowns all else away. its been described as the same as garbage on a hot day sitting in a concrete city.....it would not be completely inaccurate.
i wouldnt say its "bad". its different. but i dont have a desire to do it again.
