I'm going to be in Dallas Sunday and will be staying close to this restaurant. Has anyone eaten here, or have any other recommendations for the area? I believe it is in the galleria area.

I've been to FDC in Miami, San Antonio and Atlanta. FDC is the benchmark by which all Brazilian Steakhouses are measured. Definitely worth a visit...

Unless you are a fatass (no offense to the previous posters) who doesn't GAF about what you eat I would stay away from this place. Overcooked and oversalted meat paraded around a restaurant is a no-go in my book. Go to steak house and order a 16 oz filet/ribeye if you are really hungry. You'll have better sides and service that way, and you'll be able to order the steak cooked how you want it.

I like blue rare steak and these joints just simply don't do it for me. Takes all types to make the world go around (not that I really believe that), so knock yourself out if it looks good to you.

ETA: I may have eaten at a competitors of theirs and not actually a FDC, but my opinion of the type place stands.

It's what Texas De Brazil would like to be one day.

FDC is awesome. Stay away from lunch, the salad bar, and all sides and do work.

I've been to the one in Houston. Far and away better than Texas de Brazil, IMO

Not a five-star by any means but a cook experience nonetheless

That's retarded. That's like saying I have eaten at Red Fish Grill, but I think GW Fins sucks arse.

Fogo is way better than Texas de Brazil. They do a great job and will cook to order if you want something a different temp.

I have eaten at the one in Addison, and it's great. Highly reccomended. Enjoy and post your review.

I had a salad before the big meat feast. Damn good salad bar. Lamb chops were particularly good

It's awesome, but if you get carried away at it you can severely limit your meat intake

bullshite. 15 kinds of overseasoned, overcooked 'steaks' paraded around and served to those with the green cone in front of them. It's disgusting and not anything I want to be a part of. Hey, Texans love all sorts of shite I don't want to be a part of. No worries.

Eat at La Boca and then tell me FdC is a good South American steak house.

You've never been there!

You can't review a restaurant you've never been to because it's similar to another place that sucks.

Fogo doesn't over salt or over cook.

I've eaten at La Boca and it's fantastic.

I've eaten at Fogo, and it's very, very, very good.

I've eaten at Texas de Brazil, and it's over cooked and over salted.

It's not the same place.

If you were really a steak lover, you'd know there is more to steak than a "Blue Rare" ribeye.

flap Sirloin and Coulot have way more flavor.

I've never had a problem getting anything from rare to medium at Fogo De Chao. But I also have had the overcooked and oversalted cuts at Texas De Brazil and Fire De Brazil, so I know exactly what you've run into.

Let me assure you that FDC is markedly better. The whole meal is really about the experience. There are few other places where you can get 15 cuts of meat and also local Brazilian favorites like genuine linguica sausages. Its not something I'd do regularly; however, it is a blast when entertaining folks who enjoy steak and have never experienced the spectacle of Brazilian style steakhouses. If your going to do it, FDC is the way to go...

How are you talking negatively about a restaurant you self-proclaimed have never been to?

Fogo is by no means great but it's pretty solid for what it is and definitely worth trying at least once if you have the option.

This isnt a thread about texas de brazil.

Been to the one in San Antonio twice.

Get ready to get full. Excellent service. And don't fill up on the salad bar.

The sirloin is the best piece of meat they serve.

Agreed, Gaston is a fricktard.

I don't eat at buffets, and I don't eat at places that parade around with meat on spit, hell I don't even try other people's food at a restaurant. It may be amazing, I just don't want it. So be it. I read the menu and ask questions trying to create the meal I am in the mood for that night and I don't want anything else once I've decided. I guess I'm just a prick that way.

I'm sure it's great, eat on. I apologize to everyone involved - I'll troll somewhere else. Everyone knows I'm moron with completely twisted taste anyway.
