Your overall point is valid, but Canes is not regional anymore.
To my knowledge, there isn’t one in Birmingham where I live. I’ve heard there is one in Tuscaloosa, but I never go there. Based off the hype this board gives Cane’s, I made it a point to go there on my trip to Shreveport. It was certainly good, but not my favorite out of the chicken places.

Man I don’t think that’s accurate
Canes is fine for a quick meal with the kids. Definitely not deserving of a trip while traveling.

Did your order look like this? Chicken, fries, etc busting out the sides with overflow?
Highly doubt it.

Highly doubt it.

I have never been to Cane's or Zaxby's. Am I really missing out on not having chicken tenders?
I've been through the drive up at Cane's a few times getting food for kids and eaten a few fries, but never had the tenders there, at Zaxby's or at Chic Fil A. I had a breakfast biscuit at CFA once and it was okay. I do get the chicken noodle soup there quite often. Haven't had tenders from Popeye's either.
I'm not much of a chicken tender person. I like bone in, skin on fried chicken. Maybe I need to try some tenders. They've never appealed to me.

It says a lot about them when the sauce served with them is more hotly debated than the tenders themselves.

Would like a salad option.
Then why even go to a fried chicken place????

Congratulations on being the first person to not sub the slaw out for something else.
Slaw is so fricking gross, at least mayonnaise based - which I assume Canes' is. If anywhere actually did vinegar based slaw I wouldn't actual sub it out for extra fries, which I'm sure they probably just give you like 4 extra fries.

I wish Canes would put the same seasoning on their fries that Zaxby's does. Well, some Zaxby's. Some leave it off for some absurd reason.
Everything else there really isn't much difference in the two. Canes has better toast. However, every Cane's i've been to has been astronomically more consistent than Zaxby's, and that is saying something with how low my expectations are for fried chicken places.

Cane’s is just okay in my opinion. And I don’t even know why anyone would get it when Popeye’s exists.

Am I the only person out here that gets extra toast and makes a little sandwich with the two pieces of toast a tender? I usually eat a few fries and the rest go to the dog.
I've actually ordered that by itself by ordering a la carte. 1 tender, 2 toasts, 1 sauce. $3.50 (for real).
Looking at the menu on their site, I think the sauce has some sort of Caesar dressing in it. The allergen warnings list F=Fish (Anchovies) for the sauce.
or Worchestershire sauce...

Zaxby's salads are fire. I get the Caeser with blackened chicken and it's on point. All salad options have chicken in them, be it fried, blackened, grilled, etc.

That makes a lot more sense, considering every recipe for this type of sauce calls for worchestershire.
