festival international food recs

Heading to Lafayette for Festival International for the weekend. First time. Any food vendor recommendations? Any must eats? Thanks in advance!

All of the stuffed bread bowl options are killer. There’s a couple spinach and crawfish ones, and I believe Pops Poboys does one stuffed with a pasta.

At any festival in Lafayette my first vendor stop is Pat's Downtown

Bon Creole fried shrimp or fried crawfish poboys are usually overstuffed and delicious.

But Pop’s is pretty dam delicious! I was thinking festival vendors, but Pop’s is right in the middle of the festival itself.

C'est Bon Manger - crawfish, shrimp & spinach bread bowl ; Bang Bang shrimp poboy
La Casa del Taco - Caribbean Jerk Quesadillas
Poupart - bread pudding ; shrimp etouffe in pastry puff
Poor Boys Riverside - Fish Tacos
Fezzos - bread pudding w/ rum sauce ; creamy crawfish nachos
Bon Creole - praline chicken waffle; crawfish spinach boat
Mandez' - crawfish monica ; duck quesadillas
Blu Basil - Bang Bang shrimp, Srichi Kimchi Fries
Patacon - Beef patacon
Awe Shucks - chargilled oysters

Had the Pops crawfish mac bread bowl last Festival, it's really good but very rich/heavy/filling. Either plan to split it with people or it be the only thing you eat.
Had a burger from Best Burger last night that was pretty good and the paella from Pamplona was great. Plan to try more things over the weekend.
Also, huge props to whoever sets the booze prices for Festival, has to be the cheapest drink prices I've ever seen at a festival. $3.50 well brands and domestic beers/wines, $4 for beers like Jucifer, Canebrake, Stella, etc. $4.50 for Dr. Juice, Sips, Voodoo Ranger, and the Festival Punch, $5 premium brand cocktails.

the wristband idea is also very simple and consumer friendly. No need to buy tickets or worry about bringing cash. Transfer $$ from your bank to the wristband. After FIL is over, the remaining $$ balance gets sent back to your bank account.

Yep, the wristbands are great. No more standing in line to buy food/drink tickets then hoping to don't overbuy because you're stuck with them. There's kiosk all over to add more money and you can do it from the Festival app on your phone as well. They'll automatically transfer your balance back on Monday for a $5 fee.

Ended up doing the crawfish and spinach boat.
Also crawfish monica, which is very good. And they had tons of LA hot sauce to mix in, like I like it.
Those were the two standouts. Also got a cocktail pouch from Vestal, which was strong and good. $20, but it was 2 cocktails worth and it was nicer cocktails like you’d get at dinner there.

I went yesterday afternoon. Food looked delicious and the beer was cold. Some very interesting people.

Easy option , park at Cajun Field for $10 and a bus service will drop you off on Jefferson Street at the FIL

Nice event. Little rainy this afternoon but still fun. Great little jazz band had some young ladies dancing in the rain. Would make a great marketing campaign for the next fest.

The bowls were good, but the best thing I had was from the asian place next to the Laborde Earles stage.
The wonton tacos and spring rolls were both some of the best I've had.
I watched the jazz band at the corner of Jeff/Verm until about 2:30 then I had to split with the kids. Was getting funky out there.
