Rayon Vert is not a typical pale ale by any means. This was an unfortunate choice of beers for someone just trying new styles.

This. However, Rayon Vert is a very nice brew, just not a true pale ale.

The new glasses have started a heated conversation between the wife and I about how I should be allowed to take on a Mr Monopoly persona....monocle included.

For sure. I like Rayon Vert, but it is not a good gateway beer to introduce somebody to pale ales.
