I'm doing a beer exchange with a friend who lives in Michigan. I moved down to Baton Rouge recently and have a very basic knowledge about the good craft beers down here, and this seems like where the experts hang out. Can you guys give me a list of 6 good beers that are available down here that my buddy cant get in Michigan? TIA

What style(s) of beer does your buddy like? You can't go wrong with Parish for any of the styles they brew--the IPAs/DIPA in particular. Gnarly Barley also makes great hoppy beers. Tell us what kind of beers he drinks and we'll give you suggestions. The craft beers available in BR/LA are really good compared to a few years ago and are very trade worthy. Ghost in the Machine in particular has a great rep around the country.
2BD is a Jucifer.

This.
Southern Prohibition also puts out some good stuff, and Great Raft puts out solid stuff too. Just make sure wherever you go to check the date to make sure it isn't shelf turding. I would definitely send him some Parish, but I have a huge bias towards Parish
