FBD was an old Mountain Standard Double Black IPA. Dug it out of the beer cellar. Still tasted fine. Not the best Black IPA I've ever had. Fresh hoppy feet 1.5 was great last night.

ETA: This is while brewing a Black IPA and about to brew a RyePA.

Nice beer even though it's a year old. Still has some fresh hop greenness going on.

FBD was a Red Brick Hoplanta
SBD is a Stone IPA

First time for each. The Hoplanta is good, but the Stone is superb. One of the best IPA's I've had so far, but I'm new to this.

FBD is Weihenstephaner Korbinian Doppelbock

Without a doubt one of the best beers I've had

I was very disappointed in the "aged" version. It was a million times better fresh.

No beer today, way too much fun yesterday.

I think Stone IPA is the gold standard for west coast IPAs, and you won't find many that will beat it without going to double IPAs

You may be new to this, buy you are spot on with this assessment.

TBD was a Hopitoulas draft at TJR. 4BD is a Six Point Resin back home. The weekend is over.

I'd go with Green Flash's West Coast IPA, but we're splitting hairs.

From a historical importance, yes. But I find many other west coast IPAs to be much better.....green flash west coast, bear republic racer 5, Firestone Walker Union Jack, Lagunitas IPA, to name a few. Just my opinion.

You and I have never agreed when it comes to IPAs. The only one you listed that is even close to Stone is GF. From what I remember, because its been a while, they are very similar beers. I also think that beers from breweries like Stone, Dogfish Head, and Rogue are unfairly unfavorably judge because o their wide availability. A beer doesn't have to be rare to be excellent, but you'd never know that given today's craft beer community

Good thing there are so many to chose from
