I liked the Ethos more the second time around but I prefer the dtipa. I think it's a good balance between background flavors and hop and is not overpowered by hop flavor. Bitter on the front transitions sweet with the fruit notes (grapefruit maybe) at the end.

You didn't get a strange aftertaste? And wasn't it bland? Not just my opinion. My wife has a much better palate than I and she said the same thing.

I haven't had it this year. I liked last year's though. Had heard some good things about it this year so I'm a little confused.

I know this is a beer thread so with that said...

I drank a few Saint Arnold's, Winter Stout and Lawnmower, and 1 Sunshine bomber from New Belgian. All delicious but, the highlight of the night was the night cap.

Jefferson's Reserve Bourbon

Have a good night, I'm out.

I know what Tossed Salad is. Describe Tossed Jambalya......does it involve a shrimp sausage and a big black...........pot?

My opinion doesn't carry any weight. Farmhouse/Saisons aren't my thing at all

4BD is a homebrewed oatmeal stout. I honestly forgot I still had this on tap until I started cleaning my lines. I can;t remember when I brewed it, but it had to be last fall or even summer.

For you home brew guys, buddy and I were thinking of trying this. How hard/expensive is it? Or is it just time consuming mostly?

We found a site online we could buy mostof equipment needed and we would split cost 50/50

Cheaper than most hobbies but can become as expensive as you allow.

A decent starter kit is the price of a decent driver (golf). A very good kit is the cost of a set of decent irons.

As you can see, I justify the hobby by saying "we'll, I don't golf".

Not expensive unless you make it expensive. Been a while since I've looked at prices, but I'd guess you could get in at or around $70 + ingredients for your first batch. Midwest supplies, Northwest, Morebeer, and Austin Homebrew are the big names online.

Go to How to Brew and read itbefore you do anything.

Depends. I spent 5 hours brewing today and another couple of hour cleaning my kegerator. I don't find it to be a lot of time as I enjoy doing it. Patience is more critical than actual working time.

A full all grain brew day is 4-6 hours including cleaning. It is work but the satisfaction of sipping a good beer you made is worth it. Expense can be from $125 to get started up to whatever you want to spend. I probably have$400 or so into equipment. I could easily spend $1500 tomorrow to upgrade and. $5000 for a nice digital controlled system.
