Both were nice. Sneaky pete had nice ipa notes to it, and I am a total sucker for barrel age porter/stouts

I love the double/imperial IPA style.

I am not a fan of oaky beers, but I do appreciate the style.

Also, I made a post the other night about the specialty beers Sam Adams just released. I've never tried any of them before, so let me know how you like them.

Verloren is great. Had it twice last week. Got the Cinder Bock tonight because it's 1/2 the price we've been considering spending on it at the bar Haven't opened it yet, but I will let you know.

Definitely try the Verloren.

I hated the Imperial White from the Imperial Series. Just threw half of it away. It's the consistency of a syrup.. which it says on the bottle. Too sweet, no hops at all... blegh. Just not easy to drink. It's not a traditional White in any sense.

Beers 1 thru 6 were 5 oz samples from the Smoky Mountain brewpub in Gatlinburg. Raspberry wheat, wheat, bock, red ale, brown ale and Appalachian pale ale. The last one was good enough to be the 7BD as a full pint.

FBD was a Tin Roof Watermelon Wheat, which I enjoyed. It was not overly sweet at all and could be a real nice summer beer.

SBD was a Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale, which was mediocre. And they claim it's their first ever ale which just isn't true. Bizarre.

is this canned?

I saw Tin Roof Perfect Tin when I stopped in Central for a quick beer check last weekend, but passed in favor of some other beers

Nope, draft only... it's supposed to be a seasonal offering so I doubt cans are in the works either.

Their Pale Ale should be in cans soon though.

Yeah, it was pretty good. Nothing that's going to blow your hair back and give the beeradvocate nerds a hard on, but pretty good.

In home brew news, I had a talk with my wife last night about the possibility of investing in kegging equipment, and she is down with it.

The conversaqtion took a turn for the worse, much worse, when she said that having a couple kegs of beer available at the house would mean that I wouldn't need to buy as much.

I responded quickly with "not really, I still love to try new beer" in an attempt to salvage a positive outcome to the entire conversation, and used the dog doing something funny to distract her and change the subject

negative, but if it gets bottled I would love to trade for some

Otherwise I plan to hunt some down when I'll be able to get a growler fill somewhere

when my wife asked me that i told her it might cut down a little only when im good enough to make great beer and have a dedicated air conditioned shed, garage, or bar room. By then ill be OT rich so it wont be an issue.
